In Minnesota oltre 60 ceo di aziende chiedono la fine delle tensioni per l’immigrazione

Oltre 60 Ceo di aziende con sede in Minnesota hanno firmato una lettera per chiedere una «de-escalation immediata delle tensioni», dopo che gli agenti federali dell’immigrazione (Ice) hanno ucciso a colpi d’arma da fuoco un cittadino statunitense, Alex Pretti, a Minneapolis. I manager hanno invitato «i funzionari statali, locali e federali a collaborare per trovare soluzioni concrete». Le aziende hanno affermato che i recenti disordini in Minnesota hanno causato “diffusi disagi e tragiche perdite di vite umane”.

Prima di questa lettera, la maggior parte delle più grandi aziende con sede in Minnesota non aveva rilasciato dichiarazioni pubbliche sulle crescenti misure di controllo e sui disordini.

Ma la questione è diventata più difficile da evitare. Nelle ultime due settimane, i manifestanti hanno preso di mira alcune aziende che, a loro avviso, non prendono una posizione sufficientemente decisa contro le attività delle forze dell’ordine federali, tra cui Target, con sede a Minneapolis.

Nel frattempo, lo stato del Minnesota e le Twin Cities hanno denunciato l’impatto economico devastante in una causa intentata questo mese, e hanno chiesto a un giudice federale di interrompere le operazioni di immigrazione. Secondo la causa, riporta Ap, alcune aziende hanno segnalato cali delle vendite fino all’80%.
